The problem
Most recipe apps assume you already know what you're cooking. Culina AI flips that: you tell it what's in your pantry, and it works backwards to a meal you can actually make tonight. Most existing apps either required a rigid ingredient list or ignored allergies and dietary preferences entirely.
Designing for speed
The core loop had to be fast — snap or type your ingredients, pick a dietary preference, get a handful of AI-generated suggestions, cook. I designed the full surface this touched: onboarding, ingredient and preference input, the paywall, account recovery, and the recipe detail view, with every screen built to remove a decision rather than add one.
Result
A recipe assistant that feels less like a database and more like a friend who already knows what's in your fridge.
